Scotland and Northern Ireland Conference on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA): Getting Better Value from SEA

Oct
20
2008

Increasing numbers of public sector bodies must assess the environmental effects of their plans and programmes. This is required by the EU SEA Directive (2001/42/EC) and the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005. But this requirement to do SEA has environmental, social and economic implications for the public sector.

This conference examines these implications by bringing together a wide range of expert perspectives to explore how we can gain better value from SEA. This conference is supported by SNIFFER and organised by the David Livingstone Centre for Sustainability, University of Strathclyde.
