Adaptation Scotland is the new identity for the initiative previously referred to as the Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership (SCCIP). During the autumn, Adaptation Scotland has been active in carrying forward a number of initiatives, including:
• developing its Community Engagement Programme; and
• establishing an area-based climate adaptation project is bringing stakeholders together from across Greater Glasgow and the Clyde Valley to learn more about how the region is likely to be impacted by changes in climate and to identify priority adaptation challenges and opportunities and implement work to address these.
The Greater Glasgow and Clyde Valley Area Based Project was launched on 23 November 2011 with a workshop featuring over 40 participants representing private and public-sector organisations and communities from across the region. Further events will be rolled out over the coming months to develop the project.
