Professor Jan Bebbington appointed Chair of Sniffer
Professor of Accounting and Sustainable Development at University of St Andrews, Jan Bebbington, has been appointed Chair of the Sniffer Board of Trustees.
Jan joins the Board at an exciting time with Sniffer building a strong reputation as a key knowledge broker and facilitator in the area of environmental change, and in particular climate resilience.
Sniffer Managing Director, Ruth Wolstenholme, said:
'Jan brings a wealth of experience from connecting research with society and policy, and we are very pleased to have her on-board.
A key strength for Sniffer is Jan’s understanding of issues that emerge from using the lens of sustainable development principles to look at organisational practices. Sniffer will benefit greatly from her ability to make these connections and to use the very best science to develop practical on-the-ground resilience projects.'
Professor Jan Bebbington said:
'Over the years Sniffer has delivered seminal works for environmental research in Scotland and influenced the practices of many organisations and the Government. Sniffer is now at the forefront of developing the partnership approach that is making Scotland an exemplar of building resilience and adapting to climate change.
I am delighted to be joining the Sniffer board at this time and look forward to supporting them as they make others succeed.'
Welcoming Jan on-board we would also like to thank Colin Garvie, who steps down as Chair, for all his leadership and support for the staff.
