Background on SNIFFER Research Commissioning

SNIFFER led procurement

• The majority of the research which SNIFFER manages is undertaken by contractors.    Research is procured directly by SNIFFER through a restricted tender process, i.e. a selected number of contractors are invited to tender for a proposal

Procurement led by another organisation

• SNIFFER also contributes to research commissioned by other organisations, for example to ensure that Scotland and Northern Ireland issues are taken into account.  SNIFFER is not responsible for commissioning these proposals.
• Details of where and to whom SNIFFER is making a contribution are usually available in the short description associated with the proposal information on our website using the Search facility.
