The role

The Board of Trustees is responsible for leadership and direction as well as monitoring the efficient running of Sniffer. Trustees contribute knowledge that can help the senior management team with strategy and profile raising. We are seeking to recruit three individuals who can offer their expertise, skills and networks to further Sniffer’s success.

The roles are for an initial three year term. Each year you will commit to:

  • one full-day Board strategy session
  • four Board meetings of up to four hours
  • up to eight one hour telcons between Board meetings
  • one day interaction with staff 

We will pay your expenses and although unremunerated this offers an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in ensuring that Sniffer remains a pioneering charity and continues to demonstrate leading practice. It also offers invaluable experience in strategic leadership, and direct insight into the running of a charitable organisation.

Ideal Candidates

We are seeking three individuals who can offer specific skills and expertise:

Significant senior strategic leadership and oversight including

  • Shaping vision and sense making for the future/ direction setting
  • Change management and strategic partnerships
  • Use of impact measures and performance monitoring
  • Risk Management

Profile raising and/or fundraising including

  • Experience of working with media, public relations and marketing
  • knowledge of funding opportunities applicable to Sniffer, with access to networks and sufficient time to champion Sniffer

Financial oversight

  • Strategic oversight of charity finances, including monitoring and review
  • Experience of advising on finance matters
