Contract value up to £6,000 inc VAT, January 2023 – March 2023. 

Sniffer is looking to appoint a consultant to develop and present an overview of climate and coastal change information for six Scottish islands with a contract value up to £6,000 inclusive of VAT.

Background 
Sniffer is a Scottish charity that acts as a catalyst, fostering collaboration across sectors and places to ensure transformation towards a flourishing and fairer future for all in a changing climate. Sniffer delivers the Adaptation Scotland programme, funded by the Scottish Government, which helps communities, organisations and businesses to adapt to the impacts of climate change. We are looking for a consultant who can provide climate information and coastal change expertise to support our work to develop climate adaptation responses across six Scottish islands (Yell, Islay, Hoy, Barra, Great Cumbrae and Raasay) as part of the Carbon Neutral Islands project.

Consultancy role
We are looking for an experienced consultant with a strong focus on collaborative working who can work with Sniffer and island representatives to co-develop the following during January:

  • Summaries of climate and coastal change information for each island. These should be developed using UKCP18 products and, data and evidence provided through Dynamic Coast, Scotland’s National Coastal Change Assessment.
  • High quality graphics to support communication of the climate and coastal change information. These must be accessible to a non-scientific audience.

The consultant may also be requested to contribute to climate impact assessment work that Sniffer will codevelop with local stakeholders during February/ March.
